On September 14, 2024, ISO President Cho Sung Hwan attended The 8th China Forum On Standardization Of Trade In Services via video conferencing.
In his keynote speech,he emphasized "trade development and standards cooperation" twice.
1."Synergy of trade development and standards cooperation drives mutual growth."
2."This underscores the huge importance of synergy between trade development and standards cooperation."

Mrs. JULIA BONNER DOUETT
Former Chair ISO DEVCO
Mrs. Bonner Douett is the former Chair of the International ISO Committee on Developing country Matters. Shi is the former Director of the Standards Division at the Bureau of Standards Jamaica.
She holds a first degree, double major in Physics and Chemistry and a master’s in business administration. A Project Management Professional, Mrs Douett is also Quality Systems Auditor and Trainer of Trainer and Coach, with an interest in the growth of the MSMEs sector in Jamaica,
She has spent over 25 years in field of standardization driving growth through strong project management capabilities a combination of over 12 years Private and over 13 years public sector,and has over twenty years’ tutelage at the tertiary level.
These have served to hone her skills and competences that guided the work of standardization at the BSJ. This along with a strong interest in the growth of the MSMEs has inspired the development and introduction of various programmes at the BSJ, At the tertiary level Mrs Douett developed the first Standardization module in an academic programme towards a Master’s Degree in Jamaica; the Masters in Integrated Rural Development at the University of Technology and also sits on the Academic Board.
Previously in 2017 was elected to the 15-member Technical Management Board (TMB) of the ISO, (2018 2020) which guides the technical work of ISO Committees at the international level. At this level she contributed to the revision of the ISO 2030 Strategy and greater alignment of ISO standards with the SDGs and championed the change to the ISO’s governance processes which now allocates funding for the greater participation of developing countries in ISOs governance meetings.
Locally she continues to collaborate at the Board level at the primary and tertiary educational institutions, In August 2023, Mrs Douett was granted the Badge of Honour for Meritorious Service in the field of Standardization.

Caroline Outa-Ogweno
Mrs Caroline Outa-Ogweno is the Chair of ISO's committee for conformity assessment (CASCO), since 1 January 2024. She is also the Regional Manager for the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) Lake Region, responsible for providing strategic leadership to the region – spanning 10 counties – in the provision of standardization and conformity assessment services.
Caroline has been involved in conformity assessment since the year 1999. She is the immediate former chair of the African Standards Organization Conformity Assessment Committee (ARSO CACO). She has lent her conformity assessment expertise to the establishment and accreditation of management system certification bodies at the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), Rwanda Standards Board (RSB), Namibia Standards Institute (NSI) and South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS).
Mrs Ogweno has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Nairobi and a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Management. She is a registered auditor and trainer for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. She is also an assessor and trainer for ISO/IEC 17021-1, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17024 and ISO/IEC 17065.
She is a member of the National Quality Institute (NQI), the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
